Renée Byng Yancey serves as national program director of New Connections.
She has more than 20 years of experience developing strategy, generating revenue, and working with community leaders, students, boards, and C-Suite executives in higher education and nonprofit organizations.
Renée has an extensive background in educational program development and design, government relations, managing diversity and inclusive practices, and board and leadership development.
Renée works closely with the president and executive team to provide strategic direction for Equal Measure’s philanthropic services and evaluation portfolios. She is also deeply engaged in the organization’s talent management, staff development, and thought leadership initiatives.
Prior to joining Equal Measure, Renée was vice president of partnerships with the Council on Foundations, where she was the founding director of Career Pathways, a year-long leadership preparation program for mid-career professionals in philanthropy. During her seven-year tenure with the Council, Renée took on several transformational roles, and oversaw research, education and professional development, CEO and trustee programming, national conferences, publications, and partnerships. Working closely with a network of members, colleagues, and volunteers, she played a key role in the Council’s efforts to maintain and expand its position as a thought leader in the philanthropic sector on diversity and inclusion. Renée was a founding member of the D5 Coalition leadership team, and was heavily involved in its predecessor initiative, The Diversity in Philanthropy Project.
Renée earned her M.S. from Drexel University, her B.A. from Eastern University, and A.S. from Peirce College. She also earned a Certificate from the Institute for Educational Management at Harvard University.
