Chantias serves as the research associate for the New Connections program.
In this position, she is responsible for grantmaking, grantee tracking, knowledge management, and data management. This includes grantee data collection and analyses, grant reviews, and grantee research dissemination as well as reporting on program assessments and outcomes. Chantias has a background in urban studies and diversity, equity, and inclusion. She has research and analysis experience in multiple areas, including school administration, public service, Africana studies, and cultural institutions. Her prior academic and professional experiences speak to her passion for community building and gaining expertise in the array of services to support access and equity.
Prior to joining Equal Measure, Chantias worked as a research analyst for the North Alabama Center for Educational Excellence, an Education Opportunity Center that serves the local community with programming, academic and professional advising, courses, and advocating. In this position, she conducted research to support the work of the center and enhance the performance of the organization. She also counseled students and led college access workshops.
Chantias holds an M.Ed in Learning, Diversity, & Urban Studies from Vanderbilt University and a B.A. in Urban Studies from the University of Pennsylvania.
Fun Fact: Chantias enjoys gospel choirs, her two Goddaughters, and being a jazz vocalist.
