Altinay serves as program associate for the New Connections program.
She manages administrative operations, supports event planning and coordination, and leads the program’s social media digital footprint and other communication efforts. Altinay has experience developing and implementing college access and nonprofit programs and providing mental health counseling. Throughout her career, Altinay has worked in multiple higher education and social services positions serving diverse communities, especially racial and ethnic minorities and/or individuals from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
Prior to joining Equal Measure, Altinay was program coordinator for the University of Pennsylvania Vice Provost’s Summer Mentorship Program. During her time at the Summer Mentorship Program, she successfully helped Philadelphia high school students enroll in a four-year college or university by providing comprehensive academic and life skills workshops. Many of these students faced challenges like poverty, violent neighborhoods, and lack of community resources. She was also in charge of program outreach and program facilitation.
Altinay holds a B.A. in Social Work from Rutgers University and a Master of Social Work from Fordham University.
Fun Fact: Altinay enjoys organizing any space. Whether in the office or at home, Altinay believes there is a place for every item. She has a deep admiration for efficient use of space and time.
